As part of her master's degree program in Management , students from Mainz University of Applied Sciences went on a field trip to Singapore. They were accompanied by Professors Rank and Rathje. The international field trip is an integral part of the program and is designed to enable students to think outside the box and gain firsthand experience of a different economic region.
During their stay, the students visited various international companies and organizations to gain insights into different industries, business models, and economic relationships in the Asian region.
The itinerary included visits to GEA, Lufthansa, Airbus, KfW IPEX-Bank, Coface, and CBS Consulting, where the students also worked on a practical case study. Discussions with company representatives provided valuable insights into international business strategies, financing options, and the challenges of global markets.
In addition to economic topics, sustainability also played an important role. At the nonprofit organization Waterways Watch Society, the students learned more about initiatives to protect waterways and the environment.
Cultural exchange was also a key part of the program: A guided tour with a small beer tasting at the Paulaner Bräuhaus gave students the opportunity to continue their discussions in an informal setting and deepen their international connections.
The excursion combined academic content with practical experience and enabled students to gain new perspectives on business, sustainability, and international cooperation—an important preparation for careers in a globally interconnected professional world.
