Mainz University of Applied Sciences is one of Germany’s leading institutions for training in the field of auditing. In a recent study by manager magazin in collaboration with the Scientific Society for Management and Consulting (WGMB), Mainz University of Applied Sciences was ranked among the top 10 universities of applied sciences (HAWs)—impressive proof of the high quality of its education.

The ranking is based on a broad survey of more than 1,600 executives, including numerous board members and managing directors from companies of various industries and sizes. The survey took place in the fourth quarter of 2025 and is therefore directly based on assessments from the field. The aim of the study is to identify Germany’s best auditors and, at the same time, to highlight those universities that provide particularly practice-oriented and high-quality training for the next generation of professionals in the field.

The top-10 ranking particularly highlights Mainz University of Applied Sciences’ strengths in practice-oriented teaching, its close ties to the business community, and its targeted preparation of students for the demands of everyday professional life in auditing. As a result, graduates of the Department of Business Administration are able to quickly and successfully establish themselves in demanding professional contexts.
“In the B.Sc. in Business Administration program, we offer students the opportunity to specialize in ‘Accounting, Auditing & Taxation.’ Through the courses in this specialization, we optimally prepare them for demanding roles in the auditing profession and open up excellent career prospects for them,” emphasizes certified public accountant Prof. Dr. Caroline Flick, program director of the B.Sc. in Business Administration. “This recognition validates our educational approach and our academic offerings—all the more so because it comes directly from the field.”
