Celebrating 100 Years of the Bauhaus

Especially for this exhibition, the master’s students have designed a newspaper dedicated to forward-looking ideas in the field of design.

In 2019, the Bauhaus celebrates its 100th anniversary, and the bauhaus.labor is joining in the celebration.

On September 5, the exhibition “ABC. Avant-garde – Bauhaus – Corporate Design,” curated by Dr. Annette Ludwig, opened at the Gutenberg Museum in Mainz. Since fall 2018, the bauhaus.labor at Mainz University of Applied Sciences has been exhibiting in the specially constructed pavilion in the courtyard of the Gutenberg Museum, initially featuring works by first- and second-semester students. Starting September 6, 2019, the master’s students will present their projects, which were developed in engagement with the Bauhaus legacy: True to the Bauhaus spirit, craftsmanship and design intertwine at the cradle of European book printing. Master’s student HeeYeon Yeo helped open the exhibition on September 5. Her work, along with pieces by master’s students Annika Rosche, Anna Weirich, Chungbin Kim, Isabela Dimarco, Jean Böhm, and Lukas Rudig, will be on view through January 2020. Especially for this exhibition, the master’s students have designed a newspaper dedicated to forward-looking trends in the field of design.
