IYPA Workshops

The IYPA workshops support international students in preparing specifically for their studies, job applications, and career entry in Germany.

The focus is on practical topics such as application processes, job searching, workplace communication, and digital visibility. In cooperation with partners such as the Employment Agency and experienced speakers, the workshops convey key requirements of the German labor market and provide guidance for getting started.

By combining theoretical input with practical exercises, participants can directly apply what they learn – from creating professional application documents and preparing for job interviews to strategically using platforms such as LinkedIn.

The goal is to build confidence in professional situations and further develop individual competencies for entering the German labor market.

LinkedIn for career entry: from profile optimization to job search

Do you want to create a compelling LinkedIn profile that makes a strong impression on potential employers? Do you want to understand which elements really matter to be found by recruiters? And would you like to actively use your LinkedIn profile for your job search?

Then this workshop is exactly right for you!

In this online workshop, you will learn:

  • how to create and optimize your LinkedIn profile in a professional and structured way
  • which profile sections are particularly important and how recruiters evaluate them
  • how recruiters search for candidates on LinkedIn and how your profile appears in search results
  • how to actively use your optimized LinkedIn profile for job searching and applications
  • how to build a relevant network step by step and stay visible on LinkedIn

What makes this workshop special is its strong practical focus. After each theoretical input, you will directly work on the corresponding sections of your own LinkedIn profile. The goal of the workshop is that by the end, you will have a professional and nearly complete LinkedIn profile and know exactly how to use it effectively for your job search. There will also be plenty of time for individual questions.

The workshop is offered on two dates – either in English or German:

Interkulturelle Kommunikation im internationalen Studien- und Arbeitskontext

This workshop is not about cultural “dos and don’ts,” but about how communication actually works in international academic and professional contexts. You will work with real-life situations, reflect on your own perspectives, and learn how to deal constructively with uncertainty, different expectations, and misunderstandings.

Together with other participants, you will develop strategies to actively shape communication rather than just react to it – a key competence for your academic success and career entry in an international environment.

What else to expect:

Working with case studies from academic and work contexts

Interactive exercises

Reflection on your own experiences and perspectives

Development of concrete strategies for dealing with complex communication situations

Who is this workshop for?

The workshop is aimed at international students who want to further develop their communication skills in academic and professional contexts and prepare specifically for international teamwork and career entry.
