IYPA Workshops
The IYPA workshops support international students in preparing specifically for their studies, job applications, and career entry in Germany.
The focus is on practical topics such as application processes, job searching, workplace communication, and digital visibility. In cooperation with partners such as the Employment Agency and experienced speakers, the workshops convey key requirements of the German labor market and provide guidance for getting started.
By combining theoretical input with practical exercises, participants can directly apply what they learn – from creating professional application documents and preparing for job interviews to strategically using platforms such as LinkedIn.
The goal is to build confidence in professional situations and further develop individual competencies for entering the German labor market.
Take advantage of our workshop in cooperation with the Employment Agency Mainz to gain insights into job searching and the application process in Germany. Join an application training that shows you how to search for jobs effectively, prepare professional application documents, and understand how job interviews are conducted.
For specific professional situations, we prepare you to meet company representatives with confidence and professionalism. We also advise you on how to present your strengths and competencies effectively for entering the job market. As a special offer, we also provide a professional application photo shoot.
The application workshop is designed as a three-part format.

Everybody Knows the Rules. Right?
Imagine walking into a room. Everyone seems to know what’s going on. Except you. What do you do? When we find ourselves in unfamiliar situations, it’s easy to assume that we’re the ones who have missed something. But sometimes, the rules simply haven’t been made visible. And it’s not just rules that can remain hidden. Our assumptions can be hidden, too. We interpret situations. We fill in the gaps. We make assumptions about other people — often without even realizing it.
In this interactive intercultural workshop, we’ll explore the hidden rules and unspoken assumptions that shape the way we experience everyday life.
Why can two people interpret the same situation completely differently? Why do misunderstandings happen even when no one has done anything wrong? And what role does culture play in all of this?
Together, we’ll explore how expectations are formed, how our perceptions influence the way we think and act, and how we can navigate cultural differences, uncertainty, and unfamiliar situations with greater awareness and confidence.
Expect an interactive workshop with space for reflection, discussion, and exchange — and the opportunity to look at familiar situations from a new perspective. Curious about the rules no one tells you about?
