Alex Grein Receives the Luise Straus Prize

"Alex Grein, an artist who lives and works in Düsseldorf, has been awarded the LVR’s 2024 Luise Straus Prize.
Alex Grein studied at the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences from 2004 to 2010, specializing in photography under Professor Gerhard Vormwald. She then continued her studies under Professor Andreas Gursky at the Düsseldorf Academy of Fine Arts, graduating with a master’s certificate. Since December 2022, she has been a professor of photography at Mainz University of Applied Sciences. She impressed the jury with her work in the fields of photography, sculpture, and mixed media, in which she questions established ways of seeing and acting."
