On May 25, 2024, the Department of Applied Computer Science and Geodesy celebrated the graduates of the past two semesters from the bachelor’s and master’s programs in Geoinformatics and Surveying, as well as the part-time master’s program in Geoinformatics. A total of 48 students completed their bachelor’s degree programs during this period, while 25 graduated from the two master’s programs.

Following the welcome by Department Head Klaus Böhm, remarks by Susanne Weissman, President of Mainz University of Applied Sciences, and some general information about the department and the i3mainz research institute, short presentations were given by the top three graduates of the class: Luca Christoph Thomas (B.Sc.), Kerstin Jeppe (M.Sc.), and Severin Brochhagen (M.Eng).

Afterward, 28 bachelor’s and 13 master’s graduates received their diplomas. Luca Christoph Thomas (B.Sc.), Lukas Rudolf Kauf (M.Sc.), and Lea Maren Kramer (M.Eng.) were delighted to receive another honor: they were awarded the 2024 Harbert Book Prize. With the Harbert Book Prize, the DVW e. V. – Society for Geodesy, Geoinformation, and Land Management honors the top students in geodesy programs at German universities.
