780 students engaged in discussions with 52 companies

One-on-one conversations, valuable connections, and new perspectives: The Business Day at the School of Business at Mainz University of Applied Sciences brings students and companies together. For years, the event has been fostering connections that lead to career opportunities.

The eighth edition, held on June 10, 2026, once again demonstrated the high level of interest: Around 780 visitors took the opportunity to talk with 150 company representatives from 52 companies and institutions. The focus was on personal encounters and a wide range of entry-level opportunities—from internships and part-time student jobs to thesis projects and direct entry into the workforce.

Numerous success stories demonstrate that this concept works. For example, business administration graduate Natali Ferreira-Martins secured an internship at the tax firm Johannes König during a previous Career Day. After graduating, she was hired by the firm. Beykethya Than returned to campus after completing her LL.M. degree as a representative of her employer, the Rhein-Main Transport Association (RMV)—a fine example of how students later return to campus as representatives of their companies.

Many of the participating companies value continuity and have been supporting the Career Fair for many years. Among them is Michelin. For the companies, the event offers the opportunityto connect withqualified young talent early on. Just a few days after the 8th Corporate Day, the success of the event became apparent: Several participating companies reported receiving numerous applications from interested students.

“I was particularly pleased by the open atmosphere on campus and the many personal conversations between students and companies. It is precisely this direct exchange that defines the Corporate Day. My heartfelt thanks go to all the companies that participated—both our long-standing partners and the exhibitors who joined us for the first time this year. I’m also delighted by the overwhelmingly positive feedback regarding the excellent preparation and dedication of our students,” says Yvonne Serocka from the Communications Team of the School of Business, which organizes the Corporate Day.

The event was also very well received by the students. Lina and Meike, students in the Digital Media program, described the Career Fair as “a great opportunity” offered by the School of Business. They particularly appreciated the chance to talk directly with many companies, make contacts, and learn about various career fields.

A new feature this year was the participation of the Mainz Employment Agency, which advised students on questions regarding application materials and starting their careers—including in English. The service was very well received and added another important component to the event.

The 8th Career Day was also supported by dedicated partners and sponsors. The Department of Economics would like to extend its sincere thanks to 1. FSV Mainz 05, Eckes-Granini Germany, Fotobox Wiesbaden, and Müller Kaffeerösterei for their support and their contribution to the event’s success.

Another highlight was the job board featuring around 200 job openings. Together with the numerous one-on-one conversations, it opened up a wide range of career prospects.

The Corporate Day thus demonstrates once again how the Department of Economics bridges theory and practice and supports students on their path to professional life.
