The new issue of FORUM magazine is out

Artificial Intelligence: New Perspectives for Teaching, Creativity, and Research

The latest issue of FORUM, the magazine of Mainz University of Applied Sciences, is now available. This edition focuses on artificial intelligence, with three feature articles examining the growing importance of AI in university life and highlighting perspectives from teaching, research, and the creative practice. The articles show how AI is already being used today,  and what opportunities and challenges it presents.

Alongside the AI theme, the magazine presents a range of other projects from the university, covering topics such as biodiversity in urban spaces, architectural designs for a pavilion at Mainz’s main cemetery, and a project on the digital reputation of companies. The issue’s content is rounded out by portraits of two remarkable professional and artistic journeys: An alumnus shares his work as a crime scene surveyor with the Hessen State Office of Criminal Investigation, offering a rare behind-the-scenes look at the precision of forensic fieldwork. And Professor Wolf Gutjahr of the School of Design reflects on what it means to serve as set designer for this year’s Bayreuth Festival, contributing to the anniversary production Ring 10010110, in which artificial intelligence is used as a visual design tool for the first time.
