Wikipedia articles are important building blocks for the visibility of women designers. In particular, those who were active before 1919 are often not represented at all in the online encyclopedia. Through its biographical research, the research team aims to address the general gender gap on Wikipedia—specifically, the shortage of biographies of women (17.9%) and the relatively low proportion of women among contributors.
UN/SEEN is therefore organizing a wiki workshop in collaboration with representatives from museums and archives within the network. Together with experts, newcomers will learn how to create an entry and get right to work. The results will soon be available on the project page on Wikipedia and on the website.
