Four students from the master’s degree in Business Law – Employment Law and HR Management at the School of Business want to encourage more social commitment from students. Luise Stüber, Karina Schleuning, Isabella Pahn, and Fabiola Haumann, together with their program director Prof. Dr. Katharina Dahm, hosted a breakfast for around 25 unhoused people in the Pfarrer-Landvogt-Hilfe tearoom at the Citadel on the 2nd Sunday of Advent. “We want to encourage our fellow students to grow beyond their academic achievements,” emphasizes Luise Stüber, one of the initiators.
The students worked together to organize the shopping for the breakfast, collected food through food sharing, rescuing surplus food from going to waste, and cleaned and washed up the tearoom. Special thanks go to Alumnity e.V., which supported the students with a generous donation for this campaign.
The students themselves experienced a host of positive encounters on this Sunday, which prompted them to plan another breakfast for people experiencing homelessness in March/April. “We would like to encourage any students who are also interested in volunteering to get involved and support us at the next breakfast. Every gesture, big or small, makes a significant difference in the lives of those who need it most,” says Luise Stüber.
