IYPA German courses – summer semester 2026

Do you want to improve your German, feel more confident when presenting, or prepare effectively for job interviews? Then our IYPA German courses are just right for you.

In a relaxed atmosphere, you will work on the topics that really matter in your studies and later in your career – practical, personal, intensive, and entirely in German.

Registration

Please register bindingly by the Sunday before the first course session at the latest.

No ECTS credits will be awarded for participation.

 

German courses during the semester

The courses take place weekly and can be easily integrated into your study routine. You will continuously work on your language skills and have enough time to apply what you have learned directly. The courses start in the week after Easter. You can find the exact dates and times on OLAT – please check there in advance. The registration deadline is Sunday, 12 April, at 11:59 pm.

Content
In this course, you will further develop your oral and written expression skills. You will practice discussions, presentations, and professional text formats such as emails, short statements, and summaries.

Content
In this course, you will practice typical everyday conversations, such as small talk, brief team discussions, conversations with authorities, or simple professional matters. This will help you gain more confidence in communication.

Content
In this course, you will learn how to express your opinion clearly, formulate arguments, and actively participate in discussions. You will work with current topics and practice persuasive communication.

 

German courses during the semester break

These courses are offered in a block format, making them particularly intensive and compact. With 5 contact hours per session, you will work in a focused way on your German skills and can complete the course within four weeks. Perfect if you want to make rapid progress. All dates and details can be found on OLAT. The registration deadline is the Sunday before each course at 11:59 pm.

In this intensive course, you will practice important language situations from internships and part-time jobs. You will learn how to understand work instructions, ask questions, and communicate within a team.

Content
Based on case studies, you will work on project ideas and develop solutions. In doing so, you will practice professional communication and team-based discussion.

Content
In this course, you will practice typical forms of communication in academic settings. You will work on presentations and seminar discussions as well as basic forms of academic writing.
