Research
In the Department of Economics, professors from various disciplines conduct research on subject-specific and interdisciplinary topics. A key focus of research in the Department of Economics is the digitalization and transformation of organizations in business and society with a view to shaping a sustainable future. This includes, in particular, the interdepartmental research area “Innovative Technologies and Applications in Business and Society,” which focuses on digital innovations, as well as research on new business models and the transformation of organizations across the entire value chain (e.g., supply chain, marketing, HR management). With this research focus, we are also represented on the research map of the German Rectors’ Conference.
In applied research projects, we maintain close collaboration with our regional and international partners in academia, industry, and public institutions. In both research and teaching, we support academic training up to the doctoral level. We make the findings from our research available to the public through publications in academic journals and other media.
