What's in store for you

In the first two semesters, lectures take place on Friday afternoons from 1:30 pm to 8:15 pm and Saturday mornings from 8:15 am to 1:30 pm (partly until 3:15 pm). 

The winter semester lasts from the end of September to the end of January, the summer semester from the beginning of March to the end of June. Exams are written during the semester or during the week of exams directly after the semester. In addition, there will be a block week in early February and early July. There is no lecture-free period with this study model.

The aims of the degree program

 

Upon completion of your studies, you will receive the academic degree Master of Laws (LL.M.). As a university degree qualifying you for a career, it can serve as a starting point for doctoral studies.

The master's degree in Business Law is the ideal degree program if you have already obtained your first university degree in a legal or economic field of study and would like to gain further qualifications while working. With this internationally recognized master's degree, you will improve your career opportunities in order to shape and manage international business in a position of responsibility in the future.

Program Structure

Within three semesters, our degree program provides you with indispensable legal and economic knowledge of international legal relations.


The focus of the first two semesters is on compliance and international contract drafting. At the same time, you will expand your knowledge of business English and legal English. In addition, you acquire extensive knowledge of international tax and employment law and the enforcement of law in international matters.

In the International Business module, you learn to move confidently in an international environment. In addition, you will deepen your knowledge and skills in practice-relevant areas of commercial law. In interdisciplinary learning groups you will train your ability to work successfully with other professional groups. The lectures are complemented by practical projects in the areas of employment law and compliance. You will be actively supported by experienced lecturers.

Your professional prospects

The degree program enables you to advance your career, especially within an existing employment relationship. In many companies, the need for specialized commercial lawyers has been growing for years in order for companies to be able to assert themselves in global competition. For this reason, internationally oriented master's degrees are becoming increasingly important. As a graduate you will find fields of activity in industry, commerce, banks and insurance companies, but also in the service sector and with associations.
