Our New Campus

More space for shared ideas is being created at Mainz University of Applied Sciences’ new, expanded campus on Lucy-Hillebrand-Straße.

The new building will be occupied and put into operation over the course of the summer of 2026, so that students, faculty, and staff can begin the 2026–27 winter semester on the new shared campus. In addition, the university campus will be expanded to include the LUCY building, which will offer student workspaces and modern event spaces. This significant milestone in the history of Mainz University of Applied Sciences is being marked by the image campaign: “Tomorrow Is Here – Our New Campus. More Space for Shared Ideas.”

A Place for Everyone

How a Shared Space Is Created for a University with Multiple Campuses

Warm colors, natural materials, and a cozier atmosphere: Since fall 2023, the Berlin-based architecture firm Kinzo and Mainz University of Applied Sciences have been collaborating to design the publicly accessible areas in both the old and new buildings on the campus at Lucy-Hillebrand-Straße in a way that allows students, faculty, and staff to all feel a strong sense of connection to the space. A task fraught with challenges.

At a ceremonial key handover on October 27, 2025, the State Agency for Real Estate and Construction Management (Landesbetrieb LBB) handed over the second construction phase to Mainz University of Applied Sciences.

One Campus – Multiple Locations

The shared campus serves as the heart of Mainz University of Applied Sciences. Additional locations are used for specialized degree programs, exhibitions, and engagement with the public.

Wallstraße Location

The Time-Based Media program will remain at the Wallstraße campus. The Institute for Media Design will remain there as well. Its close proximity to the main train station offers ideal conditions for studying, media production, and collaboration with partners in the region.

LUX Pavilion
