Our New Campus — More Space for Shared Ideas.
Mainz University of Applied Sciences is launching its new image campaign, “Tomorrow Is Here—Our New Campus. More Space for Shared Ideas,” to draw attention to the expanded shared campus, which will be occupied and put into operation over the course of the next few months.
On October 27, 2025, the ceremonial key handover for the university’s second construction phase took place—a ceremony for invited guests marking the official start of the upcoming relocation process from the old downtown locations. Starting in the spring of 2026, the university campus will also be expanded to include the LUCY building, which will offer student workspaces and modern event spaces. The LUCY project marks the university’s first self-funded construction project.
With the expansion of the Mainz University of Applied Sciences campus, all three academic departments will be united at a single location on Lucy-Hillebrand-Straße. Only the Time-Based Media program will remain at the Wallstraße location, which is near the main train station and thus not far from the campus. This physical proximity will foster future synergies in teaching, research, and knowledge transfer.
Mainz University of Applied Sciences’ new joint campus is located in the immediate vicinity of Johannes Gutenberg University, the MEWA Arena, and the biotech campus currently under construction. It forms a forward-looking hub for applied sciences that, thanks to a broad range of degree programs and numerous partnerships with innovative companies, fits seamlessly into Mainz as a center of science.
