Quality Management: Academic Programs and Teaching
The Quality Management Office for Studies and Teaching (QM Studies & Teaching) consists of two units: Quality Development and Quality Assurance. Our focus is on the continuous development and improvement of our academic programs, involving all stakeholders. Our processes are designed to ensure quality in teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and continuing education.
A central component of this is our quality management system, which encompasses the analysis, documentation, and improvement of structures and processes at our university. Our quality management system has been successfully system-accredited by AQAS since March 1, 2023.
The Quality Development Unit supports degree programs in their design and further development. This also includes assistance with the degree program reporting process and the curriculum workshop. Key topics such as competency-based education, digitalization, sustainability, and interdisciplinary teaching are taken into account.
The Quality Assurance Unit coordinates system accreditation and the evaluation process at the university. For the evaluation process, a survey system has been established that tracks the student life cycle. This was done in collaboration with the Center for Quality Development (ZQ) at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and the Southwest Higher Education Evaluation Network to gather information at various points in time about the conditions of study at Mainz University of Applied Sciences and to identify opportunities for improvement.
