Internal Training Opportunities

The professional development and training of its employees is a key priority for Mainz University of Applied Sciences. Our goal is to provide you with opportunities that best support your professional growth.

The staff development program includes offerings from various departments at the university, including Human Resources Development, the Center of Excellence for Innovation in Teaching and Learning, and the Professional Development College. For new employees and anyone who would like to stay up to date, Human Resources Development, in collaboration with various university units, offers a series of digital events to support you as you get started at the university. The dates and further information on the “Mainz University of Applied Sciences – Backstage” series can be found on the intranet under “New at the University.” All employees—including those who have been with the university for some time—are expressly invited to participate!

Personal Development

Your supervisor is your first point of contact for individual career development opportunities. The Human Resources Development department is happy to provide guidance.

All employees have the opportunity to receive individual coaching from a renowned consulting firm. All sessions are confidential and free of charge for you as an employee of Mainz University of Applied Sciences. Possible topics that can be addressed during coaching include:

  • Career & Workplace: Conflicts, stress, career prospects, coping with change, difficult conversations
  • Mental Health & Well-being: Symptoms of stress, sleep disorders, depressive moods, burnout/exhaustion, support during illness, death, and grief
  • Family & Relationships: Parenting issues, separation, stress related to caregiving, preparing for retirement
  • Risk of Addiction & Dependency: Alcohol problems, substance abuse, gambling addiction, addiction among family members, referrals to treatment facilities
  • Personality: Social Skills: Emotional Stability, Time and Self-Management, Confidence in Public
  • Management Consulting: Dealing with employees experiencing mental health challenges, tensions and conflicts within the team, change processes, challenging leadership situations
