The program’s core concept provides opportunities for individual specialization through a wide range of elective modules. As part of the master’s program, you can earn 90 credit points toward a “Master of Engineering” (M.Eng.) or “Master of Science” (M.Sc.) degree, which requires a total of 300 credit points.

The three specialization tracks—“Project Development,” “Project Management,” and “Infrastructure”—offer a wide range of elective modules, allowing students to tailor their studies to their individual interests. Students learn how to efficiently manage construction projects—including market analysis, risk management, and financing strategies—as well as how to plan and maintain infrastructure facilities, with an emphasis on sustainability and innovation.

In der Vertiefungsrichtung Projektentwicklung lernen die Studierenden, wie Bauprojekte von der Konzeption bis zur Fertigstellung effizient gesteuert werden. Dazu gehören Marktanalysen, die Beurteilung der Machbarkeit von Projekten, Risikomanagement, die Akquisition von Grundstücken sowie die Entwicklung von Finanzierungsstrategien.
Die Vertiefung Projektmanagement konzentriert sich auf die Methoden und Werkzeuge, die für das Management von Bauvorhaben notwendig sind. Hierbei stehen das Zeit-, Kosten- und Qualitätsmanagement im Vordergrund. Studierende lernen, komplexe Projekte zu planen, zu überwachen und zu steuern, um sicherzustellen, dass diese im Rahmen der vorgegebenen Parameter erfolgreich abgeschlossen werden.
Im Bereich Infrastruktur liegt der Fokus auf der Planung, Entwicklung und Erhaltung von Infrastruktureinrichtungen wie Straßen, Brücken, Wasserversorgungssystemen und Energieanlagen. Studierende beschäftigen sich mit den technischen, ökologischen und sozialen Aspekten der Infrastrukturentwicklung. Dabei wird besonderer Wert auf Nachhaltigkeit, Resilienz und die Integration neuer Technologien gelegt.
In addition to this subject-specific content, the program also covers general knowledge in economics and engineering, law courses, and soft skills such as leadership and communication, to prepare graduates for leadership positions in the construction industry. This also includes a general education component and the option to spend a semester abroad, during which students can earn ECTS credits by taking appropriate courses, subject to approval. Thanks to the combination of technical and business management expertise, graduates of this program are particularly well-equipped to develop and implement innovative solutions to the complex challenges of the modern construction industry.
